M.F.A. Scenic Design Degree Requirements

The Kansas City Repertory Theatre and the university theatre provide well-equipped laboratories and stage spaces in which you can test, practice and perfect processes you learn in the classroom. Design assignments are systematically graduated in scale and complexity consistent with your evolving command of the theatrical medium.

Third Semester

  • Professional Scene Design
  • Rendering Tech for Theatre Design III – Figure Drawing
  • Theatre History or Text Analysis or Dramatic Lit
  • Special Problems – Drafting if designing a production
  • Stage Lighting or Costume Design

Fourth Semester

  • Professional Scene Design

  • Master Class in Design (Design for Camera)

Fifth Semester
