Ms. DeSantis currently serves as the Production Manager to the UMKC Department of Theatre and Assistant Teaching Professor of Stage Management. She also currently still freelances as a professional stage manager and has experience with concerts, ballet, opera, musical theatre, and outdoor production.
After attending the University of Pittsburgh–Johnstown where she obtained a BA in Theatre Arts and a minor in English Literature, she earned her MFA in Theatre Design and Technology (Stage Management) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. While at the University of Pittsburgh–Johnstown, she was the recipient of the College Scholar Award in Theatre as well as the Garbarino Family Theatre Award. Ms. DeSantis is a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa and Sigma Tau Delta honor societies. She has worked for numerous companies including Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Kansas City Ballet, Starlight Theatre, Mountain Playhouse, Hope Summer Repertory Theatre, New Theatre Restaurant, Prism Theatrics, and Des Moines Metro Opera.
Ms. DeSantis was recently the stage manager for a brand new production of Eugene Onegin directed by Tomer Zvulun at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. In 2018, she co-founded Opera 180, Kansas City’s newest opera company which creates intimate opera experiences with local artists, where she currently serves as Production Director and Board Vice-President. She is a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists and Actor’s Equity Association.>
